Komipharm Australia Selects PharmOut as Architectural and Engineering Consultants

Komipharm Australia is part of a leading Korean producer of drugs for human and veterinary use, Komipharm International Australia Pty Ltd plans to design and build one of the largest pharmaceutical (high – potency) tablet manufacturing facilities in the world in Dandenong South, estimated investment is $40m. This state of the art manufacturing facility will be highly automated, incorporating Industry 4.0 technology and Lean thinking as fundamental elements in the facility design.

Dandenong MP Gabrielle Williams visited Komipharm International Australia on Thursday 15 December to announce a State Government grant to help the company expand. The Local Industry Fund for Transition (LIFT) grant will assist Komipharm to create a new global headquarters and research and development hub at its Monterey Road facility. The company will hire 40 new employees, including 10 people who lost their jobs in the automotive industry. Komipharm will also expand its global sales footprint through better access to markets in North America and Western Europe.

The 40 direct manufacturing jobs created by the project and announced by Gabrielle Williams MP, does not include the architectural, engineering and scientific jobs that will also be created by this investment, as well as the construction jobs during the project initiation phase.

PharmOut are delighted to have been selected as the Architectural, Engineering, Validation and Quality Systems provider for this project and are now busy delivering the Concept Design and Detail Design for the project.

There is no doubt that the Korean manufacturing team, and the state of art facility in Osong, Korea has allowed the Dandenong facility design to be accelerated
