The team led by PharmOut holistically provided a pre-design/site analysis, schematic design, design development and contract documentation for architectural, mechanical, electrical and process design for the new Komipharm International (Australia) oral solid dose API manufacturing and distribution facility on a brownfield site in Victoria, being the reconfiguration and fit-out of the existing building shell.
The project scope involved 6,000 m2 of new clean room manufacturing areas, warehouse areas, quality laboratories, plant rooms and interconnecting spaces within a 17,000 m2 site. PharmOut utilised a building information model (BIM) to ensure design co-ordination between disciplines, developed from an initial three-dimensional laser scan and the creation of a ‘digital twin’.
