A Better Australian Life Science Manufacturing Industry by Design – the National Life Science Forum – 9th Annual GMP Forum.
The 2019 National Life Science GMP & Engineering Forum is taking place on the 22nd and 23rd July 2019.
In 2018 we facilitated the GMP, Engineering & Validation Forum, our eighth GMP forum, we shared exciting ideas and experiences around industry hot topics and innovation.
This year’s GMP Forum (Melbourne, Australia)
In 2019, we are focusing on new hot topics which have evolved over the last few years and will continue to probe GMP, validation, engineering innovation and manufacturing topics of high interest.
Agenda and Panel Discussion Topics will include Pharma 4.0, Big Data, Data Integrity, Validation, TGA inspection trends, Quality Metrics, the new PIC/S PE009 Version 14, Annex 15, Draft Annex 1, complementary medicine guidance, innovative technology advancements and other key changes in the industry.
There will be 3 tracks to this year’s national GMP Forum
1 – GMP Quality & Compliance
This track will include updates on PIC/S PE009 version 14 and other new requirements and guidance, as well as speakers from industry sharing their best practice experiences.
2 – Innovative Thinking, Technology & Validation
Topics will include continuous improvement strategies, Industry 4.0 developments, innovation in sterile processing and practical, real-world application of lifecycle validation.
3 – GMP Facility and Process Design & Engineering
Masterclasses (Optional Topics for Day 3)
Additional options for the Wednesday (24th July) following the 2019 National GMP Forum are available (Cost $400 plus GST). Come along to the full 2-Day Forum plus attend a Masterclass of your choice (Masterclass is booked separately, see details below).

These masterclasses are being held at the Canterbury International Hotel and will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesday, 24th July 2019.
Masterclass Option #1: “Auditing engineering systems and critical utilities”
Led by Gordon Farquharson, B.Sc.(Hons), C.Eng. is Principal and Managing Director of Critical Systems Ltd.
The Masterclass (workshop and lecture format) will give participants valuable information and skills for design qualification compliant with Annex 15, enhanced design review, as well as techniques and tips for B2B auditing and GMP inspection. The main areas of focus are:
- Environmental control and HVAC systems for cleanrooms and critically controlled areas.
- Pharma Water Systems.
Masterclass Option #2: “Australian Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation Training – Masterclass”
Led by Andrew Exner, PharmOut
Masterclass Option #3: “Mindset 4.0 Masterclass”
Led by Jason Clarke, Minds at Work.
We will have a dedicated track for Engineers by industry technical experts, including architects, engineers, manufacturers and system vendors!
Topics will include new facility/process case studies and design strategies including examples for all industry sectors from complementary medicines to cannabis facilities to sterile production.
