Nic van der Nol
Architecture and Engineering Services Director
About Nic,
Executive Architect + Architecture and Engineering Services Director
Nic is highly qualified and regarded as a registered Architect across Australia, New Zealand and the United States, and also as a Registered Building Practitioner. He has over 25 years’ experience as an SME in the conceptualisation, detailed design, contract documentation and contract administration of a large range of highly specialised pharmaceutical, hospital and (sterile and non-sterile) manufacturing facilities, both locally and internationally.
Nic’s peripheral vision, by virtue of a diverse skillset, complements his ‘full circle’ project delivery experience on site as a ‘hands-on’ building contractor – from concept to completion, his holistic approach continuously measures the (improvement of) the satisfaction of the end requirements against the parameters developed within the initial client brief.
Within a conscious culture of creativity, he welcomes the various symbioses inherent within projects and embraces a transparent, collective management approach that celebrates the synergy of project variables, the sum of which is invariably greater than the sum of its constituent parts.
His particular interests present as the most challenging ‘mission critical’ facility design solutions, effected as the practical application of regulatory compliance. Particularly so with regard to the most creative, sustainable reinvention of brownfield sites and ultimately the realisation of (significant) value in both the short term and long term perspectives.
His experience includes a large range of medical and laboratory facilities that (always) leverages off design from first principles. As such, the scope has ranged invariably from critical triage through to Research and Development (and mission critical sovereign manufacturing), providing an incredibly sound depth of project expertise.
