Day 1 – Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation (MCC)
This Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation Training Course focuses on the cultivation, production and manufacture of Medicinal Cannabis, the practical questions around the most efficient facility design, your design choices within the design constraints of the regulators. In addition as you design, build, validate and operate your Medicinal Cannabis facility, you will bump into a host of additional red tape and practical cultivation problems. To solve this challenge we are offering Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation Training Courses.
Cultivation and Regulations
- licencing, permits and regulatory requirements
- overview of industry-specific regulations and guidelines in medicinal cannabis cultivation and production
Cultivation systems and practical crop care requirements
- irrigation, nutrition, climate controls
- heating, cooling, ventilation
- propagation (cloning, grow systems), indoor, greenhouse and outdoor
Cannabis varieties, phenotype, chemotype
- seeds, tissue culture, clones
- growth stages
- pre-harvest and post-harvest
Common plant diseases and pests
Day 2: GACP/GMP Regulations
GACP (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) and EU GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Introduction to regulations and compliance in the medicinal cannabis industry.
Discussion of quality management systems (QMS), including hygiene, what makes a batch, batch traceability, basic record keeping (Good Documentation Practices or GDocP), quality risk management and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Good Agricultural Practice GAP (pre-harvest)
- EU Good Agricultural Practice – GAP guidance
- WHO Good Agricultural & Collection Practice – GACP guidance
Part 1 – Good Manufacturing Practice (final dosage forms) and Part 2 – Good Manufacturing Practice (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients)
Understand the common GMP requirements for both APIs and final dosage forms.
Global regulatory landscape
GMP main requirements including:
- Pharmaceutical Quality System
- Personnel requirements
- Facilities and equipment
- Documentation (Data Integrity)
- Quality control (inc. Trending and Out of Specifications (OOS)
- Outsourced activities
- Complaints and recalls
- Internal audits
